Our Guide
Our prayer today is for God's guidance:
It is written: "For this God is our God for ever and ever, he will be our guide even to the end." (Psalm 48:14)
Have you ever felt the need for divine guidance? You just wish that God would get on your case and show you which way to go or what to do? If so, then today's prayer is for you.
LET US PRAY -
Our Father in heaven, we come to you as God Almighty, in whom all power rests. You are the Ancient of Days, for you are from everlasting. You are the Alpha and the Omega - the first and the last. We praise you for being the kind of God that you are.
Thank you for your word to us in our text today. We thank you that you are our God forever and ever, and that you have a personal interest and care for each of us. Thank you for your promise that you will be our guide even unto the end. Whether that 'end' is the end of our days or the end of the world, it gives us great confidence that you will never leave us or forsake us.
Father, we come just as we are. We are very human. We naturally want to take things into our own hands and direct and guide our lives by what we can see and hear, or by the counsel of others around us - and we wonder why we end up perplexed so often. Forgive us for neglecting you and your promises of guidance to us.
God, please give us hearts that turn to you as naturally as the sunflower turns to the sun - and minds that are hungry to understand you and your ways - and to remember that you are our God always, and that you will guide us in the good times as well as in the difficult ones.
I pray for each of our prayer friends today. If any are feeling that they are without God, may their faith take hold of your promise that you are their God always. If any are feeling that their life is going nowhere, and that they lack direction in life - may your promise be true for them today - that you "will be their guide even to the end."
Hear our prayer of praise our God, and our request for a closer walk with you and for guidance in our lives even to the end of our days.
Answer our prayer according to your will because you know best.
And we pray in the name of Jesus.
